Awesome Results for American Heart Association Fund Drive

Congratulations to the ECPI Student Ambassadors for raising almost $300 for the American Heart Association! In addition to asking friends and family for donations, the Ambassadors held several events including Pizza Wednesday and a Donut Fundraiser. Many ambassadors and their companions will be participating in the American Heart Association heartwalk on Saturday September 29 and wearing their ECPI T shirts proudly.

Watch for upcoming Student Ambassadors' Club events such as the Halloween Social and
stay tuned for November and December events, including adopting a local woman's shelter to help provide for the holiday season.

We love our dedicated Student Ambassadors!

ECPI Charleston now offers AMT certifications through Pearson VUE Testing

ECPI Charleston has been approved to administer tests for the AMT (American Medical Technologists) through Pearson VUE. These tests include the RMA exam (Registered Medical Assistant) as well as Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Tech, Certified Medical Administrative Specialist, Registered Phlebotomy Tech, Registered Dental Assistant, and Certified Office Laboratory Tech.
Prospective candidates must file an application with AMT to take an exam. Application form and supporting information are available through the AMT website at http://www.amt1.com/ and by mail from the AMT Registrar. AMT reviews the information and determines whether or not a candidate is eligible to take an exam. AMT sends an admission letter to the authorized candidate. The candidate may then register for their VUE test online at http://www.pearsonvue.com/ or by calling the Call Center directly.

The AMT certifications add to the many Pearson VUE certifications that ECPI Charleston offers in the areas of Information Technology, Finance, Insurance and more. For details, go to http://www.pearsonvue.com/ or check with Mrs. Dudley in the Library.

ECPI Charleston celebrates Constitution Day September 17, 2007

Have you submitted your Constitution Day Crossword Puzzle to the Library yet?

To commemorate Constitution Day, instructors will be handing out information to their classes including a crossword puzzle that can be submitted to the Library to win a nice prize. There is a copy of the Constitution in the Library along with a Constitution Day display board.

What is Constitution Day? On September 17, 1787, the Constitutional Convention, meeting in Philadelphia for four months, agreed on the final draft of this special, inspired document and submitted it to several states for ratification. It was ratified June 21, 1788, when New Hampshire approved it as the ninth state. Congress, acting under the Articles of Confederation, declared the Constitution the law of the land on March 4, 1789.

By general assent and resolution of the Congress, September 17 has been designated as Constitution Day ever since.

Need help with citing your journal resources?

It's that time in the term to be doing your projects that require research. Remember to copy down the information about your journal article or book when you are doing the research so you won't have to hunt down the information for your list of references.

At ECPI, our instructors favor two citation formats: APA and MLA.

To find out more about how to cite resources, visit the Online Library Research Assistance section at:

Remember that the librarian is here to help you with your research. Visit the Library!!
